Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon talks about why there is a need for the Palestinians to recognize Israel as a Jewish State. Ayalon explains that Israel does not require the affirmation of any people or nation. What Israel requests is for the Palestinian leadership to turn to its own people and say in a very clear and concise manner that they recognize the right of the Jewish People to their own state in their historic homeland. This is important for the continuation of the peace process and will be a signal by the Palestinian leadership that a two state solution is the end of their claims.

  • I don't believe that!

  • @msmcis

east european jews have a land, it's called Poland and Russia

  • Why is everyone so scared to state that Israel was given to the Jews by G-d as stated in the bible?

its surely a stronger argument than terriotorial disputes created by the league of nations or the united nations!

All the nations involved, Jewish, Christian and Moslem all hold the bible (old testament or Torah) to be true and all the religions base their beleifs and laws on the principles or laws therein.

  • @NazarethR I think you need to be educated on the democrary of Israel. Any human being that is born in Israel, whether they are of arab descent, chinese or anyother ethnic has equal rights as all jews in Israel. They have the right to vote and even be elected to government officce positions. Any Arab living in Israel has more freedom than in their country. You'd better catch up on your readig and educate yourself, before you make these remarks.

  • @NazarethR Palestinians are a contemporary myth. But you wouldn't know that, because you purchase your history books from Hamas. And Jews are worth a lot more than Palestinians, and this is what they say, not me; they're asking for 1000 Palestinian terrorists in exchange for a single Jewish soldier.

  • @NazarethR You are delusional. Arabs in Israel have the same right as the Jews in Israel. They have the right to vote, they have representatives in the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament), they have jobs just like any other citizen of Israel. Arabs in Israel enjoy freedom and human rights like they don't even dream of in Arab countries. You should get your facts right before opening your mouth and making a fool of yourself. Israel is the only democratic lighthouse in the Middle East.

  • @NazarethR Israel respects human rights a hell of a lot more than islamofascist dictatorships who hang gay men, kill women who are remotely suspected of unfaithfulness or dishonour, imprison youth who chose to stray from the so-called islamofascist "holy path", kill Christians and other islamofascists in the Sudan by islamofascist Janjaweed, marry several women and treat them all like second class citizens. And you call yourself a "peace activist'? LOL You are more like a PISS activist! bye bye

  • @NazarethR For a "peace activist" you most certainly sound very violent! Israel is neither the first nor the last country in the world to transfer people. Islamofascists transferred Sikhs and Hindus to make way for the islamofascist state of Pakistan and Indonesia where women are treated like shit, and honour killings are common. But I am certain that does not bother you at all since it does not involve Israel. If you are gay, best of luck living in an islamofascist dictatorship. bye bye

  • @NazarethR The major problem with 1967 border is not does it include East Jerusalem (and do not forget Jews were ethinically cleansed from it in 1948 by Jordan and not being allowed to visit after 200 years of being the majority), we will not allow that again. The world is divided in terms of Jerusalem, but whatever the out turn, we will fight for it, whatever it takes. West Bank you'll get it, it's not even close to what Jerusalem means to us, the settlers from there will also leave.

  • @NazarethR The point is the Israeli government will not take them out as a precondition for peace negotiations, Palestine itself has to go according the Quartet requirements which include recognizing Israel and renounce violence, something the PA managed to "control" (hence, the good reputation they've earned)and something that Hamas does not (hence, the bad reputation). That was the story before, when we had a partner for peace, not they have come together you don't leave us much option.
