It isn't exactly a hack. Valve has a friendly policy toward modders, they actually sell games with the ability (if you have an appropriate skill in computer software) to modify a game to make it more interesting if you so wish. In fact, Valve originally started out as a company of modders hired by modders making games for modders. Since other gaming companies hate modders, Valve felt it would be a good marketing strategy to accept modders with open arms. And it surprisingly worked too.

...no it's not a HAAAX!!!!!!!! LOL! It is very legit considering that Valve advetises and sells GMOD on steam. In fact they signed a contract with Garry (the guy who made garry's mod, can't remember his last name) to own part of the copyrights and share on the profits. Valve even continuously updates GMOD through steam with new definitions from the other valve games.

1) Buy Half Life 2 (you need the source engine before you can play garry's mod)
2) Buy Garry's mod (it's only $10 and available on steam, which you get when you buy half life 2)
3) Get FRAPS or some other software to record the game as you play it. (if you prefer, you can go into the game console and have garry's mod record your actions for you)
