Testing DIY Rolled capacitors

Made these capacitors.
Big one: 144nF, made of 2X 10" x 120" poly (5 mil) and 2x 6" x 110" foil
Small ones: 7.44nF, made of 2X 10" x 12" poly (5 mil) and 2x 6" x 7" foil

The capacitors alone with a 12KV nst, hold up to full power, and they run quiet. Though on the doubler, it starts to hiss at the cap-meets-diodes ends. Positive and negitive. Wonder why.

Hey there mate. I'm liking what I see so god I got the chance to subscribe to you. Ya stuff is cool. Iv never made a foil capaciter before. Iv made many salt water caps before!! When ya make ya foil caps is there any way ya do it ? So many turns? As i would like to make some h.v caps I do have h.v caps! But I'd like to make my own. Wicked video mate and thanx for sharing.

@high1voltage1rules Nope, the more you roll the more capacitance (and corona) there is going to be. I think i made most of them out of 1x3ft 5 mill poly sheets and 6x30 inch foil... basic DIY cap, P|F|P|F layers.

@Hassasin195 No stages yet, currently working on DRSSTC atm. and uh yeah...This marx 'danger level' ranks 0% compared to my DRSSTC... Far more volts/amps there :P

@MrSciencetificsasuke No. Its just a 140v 8A variac. I also have a 140v 30A and a 280v 10A (120v in, steps up)
