I never wanted to go to Nam. i was 18 only cared about cars and girls and my summer vacation, just after graduation, i got my first letter in the mail. "Greetings". I went in 68-69 during tet. i got hit with a grenade and was sent to tokyo for recovery. when i came home my bags were stolen, and my family wasnt there.

That'sright...,you "THOUGHT" you were doing something 'Patriotic.' However, just like there is no excuse for being ignorant of the law, there's no excuse for being ignorant of the world around you. The Viet Nam was was an unconstitutional war of aggression and intervention without a declaration of war. And, we intervened on behalf of an evil, corrupt S Vietnamese regime which most of the Vietnamese people HATED. I have more respect for those who refused to go than those who didn't.

I have a friend that was a pilot in Vietnam. He retired W-4. If the US had it, he flew it. I've heard a lot about the Huey. He was a test pilot for the Cobra. Don't like the sound of a scout chopper... "the target is the burning loach" YIKES! I hear the funny stories. I can just imagine what he let loose that makes him lose sleep to this day. I don't ask. I'm a Patriot Guard Rider, and stand with a lot of Nam Vets. I stand FOR them too. The Vietnam Veterans "thank you" is long over due. HOOAH
