Wish I was born in time and could have attended this Town Hall Party. Johnny did some of his best songs on this show. I'm thankful to the folks at Youtube for keeping these wonderful performances alive. The sound quality is also surprisingly good for this era.

What a talented performer and silky-smooth performance! The words of the song are a great cautionary tale to the young and reckless, too. In the violent world in which we live, perhaps more young people should hear this song and heed its admonition.

does anyone else get shivers when they hear this song?

I love this song! I love watching the old footage of him and when he sang at San Quentin. It's awesome.

Great song, one of my favorite, of all time. Tranks, for sharing.
