  • was Clemence drunk when he put the wall in this idiotic position???

  • Rainer Bonhof was brlliant at set pieces. Keep a look out for the opening goal scored by him when West Germany played Holland at the 1978 World Cup finals. Another great strike with speed and power.

  • Ray Clemence was a superb goal keeper. Shame about this. I wish he was available for selection now. 2009.

  • I remember reading about this in Shoot! magazine as a kid long before ever seeing footage of this match. Bonhof was my favourite player from seeing BMG and West Germany on "Soccer Made in Germany" on PBS.
