This is a video showing how to fix the car mount for the Motorola Droid X so that it can use third party cases. All you will need are wire cutters and a nail file.

Enjoy!

  • Be sure to check out my channel for a car mount unboxing video!!!

  • Awesome post brother! I was looking around for an answer to this for a while. I'm a big supporter of the silicone case and wanted to get a nice little mount setup with my new Motorola T505 that's on its way.

  • Looks like the hard plastic Rocketfish case is a better fit huh?

  • Good info...thank you!

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • Dremel tools are handy for this also

  • Yeah I was going to ask the same thing. I could imagine that with the case on it still wouldnt charge because it wouldnt make a proper connection with the dock.

  • Is yours charging when in the case? for me the cardock app opens up but the phone is not charging. I assume it is too far disconnected

  • GD... Finally some good information about Droid X Car mount. Have you heard about the Seidio Active case fitting (not the rugged)?
