Jack Doyle (IRL) & Hardly (ISH) - 1987 CSIO 5* Dublin Grand Prix

Jack Doyle (IRL) & Hardly (ISH) finished 20th in the 1988 Olympic Show Jumping Final in Seoul, best of the Irish:

Hardly (ISH) grey, gelding, Sire: Nordlys xx - Dam: Irish Draught mare.
Nordlys was a grey thoroughbred stallion by Nasrullah

Nordlys stood with Maurice Phelan, outside Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford

Nordlys is the sire of the "only" Irish bred show jumper to win an Olympic individual Gold medal in show jumping - 1972 Olympics, Ambassador (ISH) & the late great Italian rider Graziano Mancinelli (ITA)

Nordlys is the Dam sire of Cruising

Nordlys grey colour can be traced back through to the "spotted wonder" The Tetrarch (some of Cruisings progency have "the spots" in their coat too).

Nordlys had some great thoroughbred blood:
Champion sire: Nasrullah (Nearco - Pharos - Phalaris --- Nasrullah's dam side, The Tetrarch)

Nordlys dam side:
The Tetrarch
Chaucer (St.Simon)
