The CLK-GTR never took off, it was the Mercedes-Benz CLR they wanted to use from 1999 on.

Right on. Veyron might lead in some situations like race start until first/second chicane or be in front if he gets a job as pace car but other than that it will be 24hours of misery for him(if he would be even able to last one stint)

Veyron might impress chicks and car enthusiast friends with numbers and fame but he has no place in race like Le mans.
