Tim Heaphy 91 was sworn in as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia on Dec. 4 at the Law School.
Heaphy was introduced by his father-in-law, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Gen. Eric K. Shinseki, and by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
It's inspirational to see someone so passionate about what they do. I hope to attend UVa Law and Mr. Heaphy's speech has solidified in my mind that the pursuit of a law degree is a noble one. The law is a profession that will allow me to serve my community and the people within it. I moved 1900 miles from my home in Utah to Charlottesville VA in hopes of attending the law school here, so that I can follow in the footsteps of so many great UVa Law grads. Thanks to all for sharing this event.
