haha perfect combination?? please eddie royal could have been an elite college player if he was at a college with a decent quarterback (tech had glennon and tyrod, glennons ok but tyrod, especially at the time, was BAD passing). Its laughable to listen to people who say tyrod would be sick with a good reciever..haha i guess 90 catches in the nfl his rookie year wasnt good enough for "Tygod"

1. He did already start an NFL game.
2. Smith was the projected started for the 08/09 season, but he was very sick and lost 20 some pounds. That's why he was taken over.

It is 10x harder to play QB in the NFL...that's why your boy is riding the pine in Baltimore. That's why he got taken over by a rookie Joe Flacco. That's why Smith will NEVER start a game in the NFL

And that's all that Smith will ever be able to say about his football career. He can never say he was the face of the NFL, he can never say HE was the reason fans went to games, and he didn't have an impact like Vick did at Virginia Tech. Vick brought VT into the national spotlight for a long time to come.

Troy Smith was also a system quarterback. Hand off to the running backs, play action and make a few passes to your talented WR's. Then when you play teams outside of your conference with good defenses ala Florida, he gets eaten alive.
