Well Smokey but no Bandit in sight ! - 26/06/08 Seen around Walsall - West Mids - Could it possibly be the latest gadget to fill the road with smoke to slow down crooks trying to get away with the loot ? If not I doubt this vehicle passes current vehicle emmissions test requirements ! Must have been in "active-police" service and not in for repair as the POLICE livery and Blue lights are NOT covered as required by Police if vehicle if being driven by a "garage technician" or similar. Puts a whole new meaning to Smokey and The Bandit - lol

  • Perhaps you should've filed a complaint to the police as well .. when people notice, they tend to act .. they probably didn't know about this smoke problem, although they should have been testing it before starting patrols.

  • Head Gasket !. Dont drive it too far like that.

  • They all will have upto date Tax discs BUT if you look closely they will be £0.00 (zero) value !

  • This is completely wrong. Any road vehicle must pay the vehicle excise tax. This only applied to site/off-road vehicles of which are intended to only be NOT on the road. Go down to your local station and they should all be up to date.

  • Bloody hell, the fog's coming in!

  • We have our Emergency vehicles safety checked every six weeks. MOT is the same rules as for anyone else. Still, it is one rule for the cops though - driving round with dodgy break lights etc

  • The only thing "Emergency Vehicles" are exempt from is Road Fund Licence - TAX ! As for safety checks it is the drivers "Duty of Care" to ensure that the vehicle they are in charge of is "FIT FOR PURPOSE". As most Emergency vehicles are less than 3 years old they are not required (NOT EXEMPT) to be presented for an MOT test until they are 3 years old +

  • they can't get procecuted at all. Emergency vehicles are exempt from MOT's and safety checks.

  • very funny

  • if that was anyone else, u'd get f**kin prosecuted for that! yet more proof of the "one rule for one, one rule for another" mentality
