Some people wonder if the Danglet safely holds an iPhone or iPod. Others wonder if damage will occur to the iPod or iPhone if a Dangle is pulled hard enough to break free. We decided to find out with this entertaining and unarguable test. This video demonstrates that a Danglet is secure at over 40-pounds of load, and, that when it does break (at over 60-pounds) it is engineered to do so in a way that causes no harm at all to the dock connector on an iPhone or iPod.
Regarding the use of Danglet with an iPad... The original iPad does not allow a secure lock with the Danglet, but the iPad2 works well with Danglet.

The mass of the iPad tablet computer is not a problem, but the iPad's diecast housing is the entry guide to its docking connector and 3 out of 5 iPads will not allow the Danglet's retention tangs to lock into the housing. While Danglet was fully secure on the units that did have consistent port geometry, we cannot recommend the Danglet for use with the iPad tablet since the degree of manufacturing variation found would make it impossible to label as "compatible" with that particular device.

I bought the Danglet 2 weeks ago and I like it very much. I like to have my Itouch so
I can see what artist is playing(rather than having to get it out of my pouch or pocket to look). I am happy to see this video so I don't have to worry about my Ipod falling or breaking away. But be careful about it swinging into the table in front of you.
