Each spring the University of Memphis and the Alumni Association presents its highest honors, the Distinguished Alumni Awards, to alumni and friends. This year's DAA was held on Friday, February 25 at the Peabody in Downtown Memphis. This year's recipients were: Outstanding Young Alumna Dana Gabrion (BA '98) Co-Executive Producer, America's Next Top Model and proprietor of the Talbot Heirs Guesthouse; Distinguished Alumnus Ken Bennett (BS '79, MS '85) Founder and Executive Director of Streets Ministries, Inc.; Distinguished Alumna Carolyn Hardy (BBA '74, MBA '87) President and CEO, Hardy Bottling Company; Distinguished Alumnus Jody Stephens (BBA '84) Drummer of the rock band Big Star and Studio Manager for Ardent Studio; Distinguished Alumna Dr. Jan Young (BSN '83) Major General for the Air National Guard and Executive Director of The Assisi Foundation of Memphis, Inc.
