Tougher Than Tough: Bear Spray

Rob did it! and it did hurt like hell. Bear spray is meant to take down an approaching aggressive grizzly bear afterall. Officially its described as a non-lethal deterrent spray that causes temporary eye-tearing and respiratory distress, but leaves no permanent damage. Tougher Than Tough Mission 5 contestant Rob took a shot of bear spray to the face to earn $750! At first Rob just grit and 'beared' it; trying not to breath in the fumes; then it got worse and he dropped to his knees; his body temperature rose and the tears flowed; but the excruciating pain kept coming...for a good hour. Rob said the part that hurt the most was having to open his eyes to get them flushed out with neutralizing solution by our EMT Dan. After rinsing and rinsing with lots of soap and water for about an hour the redness of his face and neck came through like a sunburn. Dont try this at home. Rob is ok now but he was pretty incapacitated for at least an hour and a half.
