Bullshit! Only 6 democrats in the Senate supported the Bill. The only Republican who voted against the 2001 Tax Cut is John McCain.

Do you have any ideas what this debt will do to this country? You have any idea how high inflation will rise? When hardtimes fell in the 80's, we cut capital gains taxes, income taxes, investment taxes. This creates sound money and gives people incentive to invest and save. People will save now, but not to make interest they will lose revenue to high inflation. Take a basic economics class PLEASE. You believe everything you hear on CNN and NBC. Read the WSJ everyday and then tell me something.

You just don't get it, the best thing to happen was to let GM and these companies go under, they wouldve been bought out by other companies (i.e. hummer division by china and saab by european automaker). Now, there is no lesson learned by these companies, and the debt you say Bush caused, its blown out of the water by Obama (who knows what McCains wouldve been, but they both share Keynsian economic views, not that you know what that means). Because its labeled a Stimulus Package, doesn't make it a "be all end all cure". over 700 BILLION DOLLARS in more debt. 1/2 of every dollar printed in this country on going is owed to china, HALF. The wasteful spending in that bailout is ridiculous. Americans like you who haven't taken an economics or finance class in decades disgust me. You can't have real tax cuts unless you cut spending.

If you cut taxes, you need something to fill in the missing revenue, whether that's removing an equal amount of spending, or printing the money.

But printing money creates inflation, which is a kind of tax. So you're lowering taxes for some people, but replacing it with the inflation tax, which eats at the value of your money and hurts the poor and middle class the most.

Too bad no one in Washington is talking about cutting spending.
