lyrics by Jamie Robert Thorpe
dear granddad,
i faithfully insist
you are so sorely missed
i walk down the same path
i am walking down the same path
so where do you go from here?
i can still feel you sitting next to me
bifocals and crossword puzzles
sundays are happy days
in front of the rain soaked windows
where we'd both see
we'd both see birds
i faithfully insist
you are so sorely missed
i walk down the same path
i am walking down the same path
so where do you go from here?
i can still feel you sitting next to me
you'd sit there with your naval rum
and a cigarette, me on your lap
hanging onto every word
you told me your old war stories
my expectations were always
more than met
i faithfully insist
you are so sorely missed
i walk down the same path
I am walking down the same path without you
so where do you go from here?
i can still feel you sitting next to me
you made me promise to
uphold the family name
and i forever promise you
i won't make you ashamed
all birds should be set free you told me
those in a cage make heaven enraged
in front of the rain soaked windows
sundays were happy days,
we both saw birds
so where do you go from here?
i can still feel you in the sky
with the birds
i faithfully insist
you are so sorely missed
i walk down a new path
but you're still walking next to me
I really like this, beautiful voice and keyboard, and heartfelt lyrics. But i agree, this would be better without reverb. Definetely subscribing though, can't wait to see what else you come up with :)
