Som Italian bottom brackets go in other way I think, don't u need to let lacquer harden for a week

I want to buy a new crankset for my old steel road frame. I am considering shimano Ultegra Hollowtech 2(just like your Sora) and I am worried that the BB wont fit the frame. Did you have any problems with installing the BB?

@Thebikezoneuk Is that a iron bike or an aluminum bike?

What a gorgeous work of art you have, you are a very lucky man.
She's a beaut, mate. I've really enjoyed watching your videos as inspiration for my bike restoration and rebuild.
Question for you: what steps did you take to clean out the bottom bracket shell before painting? and what did you do before putting the bottom bracket back in?

@DamnShaneIsThatU
Used a small rotary wire brush in a drill with brass brushes so not to damage the threads. Normal grease before putting in the BB. Prefer to use molybdenum grease with graphite in. Dirty grey stuff that kakes a mess but is used in the motor trade therefor must be OK if fit for the bearings of a car. Make sure you DO NOT CROSS THREAD THE CUPS or disaster awaits.

Cheers man. Paintin my first bike soon for a fixie project. What brand would you recommend for the laquer? I'm just gonna use Montanas for the paint I think

@himrawkz
What you can get hold of at a reasonable price

What laquer did you use for this? :)
himrawkz 1 year ago
@himrawkz
Used an acrylic laquer out of a can. Not what i wanted to use though. Wanted to use 2 pack from a spray gun but it is too toxic as i havent got breathing apparatus.
Problem is now, that the paint chips very easily however it is therefor easy to touch up. Spray some paint into a small container and use a small paint brush to pick up the paint and fill in any chips.
Hope this helps.
