i am sorry about your situation! i wish i could help but i am having problems of my self! i like the 80's mix i am using the harmonic chart! and all the keys are in A: i am doing rap old school oldies and i wonted to know if the mix that you used for the 80's mix can i use it for the rest of my music? thankyou

i can do EXACT thing without this expensive machine and only 1 headphones, one common mixer and two bullshit cd players or two PC's with winamp installed. i can't understand why do these "DJs" complicate the stuff so much, all you have to do (if you know your music) is to follow the beat and press play! that's why i love 80s, there are no bullshits, just good melody and good rhythm, unlike this new boring repetitive music. i respect the effort of this guy though.

@Defin8te Rhythm of the Night by DeBarge. Often mistaken to be from Miami Sound Machine.

Synchronizing the rhythm on most of the 70s and 80s tracks is a bit more difficult than on most modern dance music. Modern dance music has a straight 4-on-the-floor beat, while most disco is based on older Latin-American rhythm types. Not all of them will match all of the time.
If you want to get some better idea of how that works, listen to some rhythm types from the Latin music (e.g. cha-cha-cha, rumba, bossa nova, mambo, samba) and be astonished by the variety.

Dance music played by real people? No drum machines or Auto-Tune? The sheer novelty!
No wonder record companies don't make quality music anymore: Musicians are just too damn expensive.

Unlike 95% of the videos on youtube, this video has "value". If you don't have the will or interest to experiment and learn most of the significant DJ skills that Ellaskins outlines here, then nobody can help you.
