  • Saying that the United States is a Christian nation is like saying we're a Caucasian nation. After all, 60% of the population is white.

  • @boywhoy88

You do not understand the bible. When Jesus died on the cross, only the sacrificial laws were changed, not the moral laws. That was what it was supposed to change. Gods wrath, whether the laws were to have changed or not, was "justified" and that makes me sick to my stomach. Why would a supposedly all knowing God, let his creation heap condemnation upon itself? He is ultimately responsible. Might doesn't make right.

  • @MadHatter34784 well you can't change your skin color, you can change your faith though.

  • @whiskeredtuna We get our sense of right and wrong from society, not from the christian world view. I was raised in an atheist household, my children likewise, and not only do I know what is right and wrong, so do my children. What's more, half the worlds population is not christian, and they know right from wrong too.

If we took our morals from the immoral bible, then we'd still have slavery and genocide would still be ok. I am more moral than that, and reject the bible.

  • Very interesting .

  • @whiskeredtuna (contin) Final point: Let us consider the only qualification for getting into hell: Not accepting Jesus as your savior. This means non-believers. What this means is that the WORST punishment imaginable is reserved for simply not believing. If I kill, rape, and torture as many people as possible I can still go to heaven if I accept Jesus at the end. Does that sound fair? Does Christianity sound sane and reasonable now?

  • @whiskeredtuna (contin) God (of the Bible) also allows for something that even we humans would not allow: UNENDING, UNIMAGINABLE, TORMENT. That is something that we, as human beings, would normally find absolutely disgusting. Pick the worst human you can think of. No matter who you pick I myself do not feel that person deserves never ending suffering beyond all imaginative nightmares. That's the most evil thing EVER. By ANY standard. So are we MORE forgiving than Jesus?

  • @whiskeredtuna There is no such thing as objective morality. If you say God is perfectly moral that means there is a standard of good that precedes the existence of God itself. If you say that God is holy because he is all knowing and thus would know what is best then that means that morality is a matter of reasoning ability and thus defeating your own argument of absolute good and absolute evil. After all God can do things men are not permitted: anger, vengence and murder.

  • @whiskeredtuna I knew you were going to take that route. The only thing is that argument has been debunked a million times. Yes we all have standards of right and wrong. Mine isn't absolute. Good is whatever is beneficial to yourself and your fellow man. Something that is determined by the material existence of a species. We see murdering people as evil (it hurts our species) but not the murdering of another species for food (it benefits our species).

  • @robbieblack111 Well that's very profound.

  • @ahhhhjjjj What dose sadistic mean? in order for you to describe anything as evil...you have to have this standard of good (right & wrong)....where do you get this standard from? sounds to me like your actually borrowing from the christian world-view in order to argue against God!
