A ( 3-D Visual Animation Video ) presentation of Genesis 1:6 through Genesis 1:8. . . the completion of "Day #Two". What is demonstrated in this video, is only for purpose of demonstrating the separation of the atmosphere; in Hebrew, the definition of "Firmament" is noted in the King James as meaning an "Expansion," which would imply an expanse which divides atmospheric moisture vs. ground water (that would become the ocean). "Seas" are not even described as occuring until "Day #3." It is portrayed as blackened which I'm purposely doing, to show the thin layer of cooling lava... In reality, early Earth would have likely had blackened out skies from smoke, poison gasses, with water as heavy steam, and completely inhospitable with zero visibility, that is, until the further evolution of Earth's atmosphere.
Much, much more could be said about the evolution of the Earth's atmosphere.

Young Earth Creationists fairly much arrived at the same conclusion about the "firmament" meaning an "Atmosphere" vs. the Babylonian mythology as some Agnostics and Atheists have tried to superimpose on the Genesis 1 chronology.

Water would've been primarily "hot steam" in the earliest period of Earth's evolution... cooling would cause the effect I've shown in the video. (We see it happening even today... in the form of water molecules/steam... forming clouds...which cool and become heavy and fall in the form of rain to the ground.

THE FIRMAMENT REFINED
# 1 ... not smack dab in the middle of the atmosphere... but in the midst of THE WATERS...

#2 ..."Firmament" is defined as an,
1) "expansion" that
2) divides water... and,
3) has water above it, and below it
4) even a solid / firm structure (layer of the atmosphere).
5) that God would call "Heaven". (Genesis 1:8)

The Firmament is the Troposphere.
