This is actually my channel - I specialize in natural beautycare (as you can see I do not dye my hair). Shawna is an excellent hair expert but does not focus on the area of natural. She is my stylist + is probably the best one in this city so I asked her for these tips - and I've had great feedback on them.

I have some specific hair concerns. I have color treated hair, dandruff that just can't be kicked, and an oily scalp. I feel like I have to wash my hair everyday or it will be an oily nightmare. Is there anything specific I should do to make my own shampoo? Should I add ingredients? If no ingredients are added, what mixture of the products mentioned would be best for me?

Washing your hair everyday is actually great for dandruff as it is often caused by a specific bacteria. I also recommend using neem oil as a treatment as well as you can use a hair serum during the day (a light, oil-free product). My husband had awful dandruff + this kicked it.

This mixture will destroy your hair! Using highly alkaline solutions on your hair (baking soda, bronners soaps, etc.) though it feels soft and manageable that is really the disulfide bonds being weakened by the alkaline solution. This is why so many shampoos on the market advertise that they are pH balanced. Forcing your hair to go up to an 8 or 9 and then forcing it back down to a 4.5 in a short period of time like this video suggests is very damaging.

    natural shampoo

I bought my first organic shampoo - arganlife shampoo - and loved it. The lather was good and my hair was really shiny. Maybe its the improvement in the formula since this article was written. Using natural shampoo is definitely worth the money and effort to find the really good ones I bought w (dot) arganlifeproducts (dot) com

Wow, you are rude. I think the video is to promote and assist with making natural shampoo and conditioner and frankly the ladies do a great job with that. Take your rude butt and comments elsewhere if you don't like the video

This mixture should not destroy your hair, some people actually leave it in all day. Though you may not get that squeaky clean feeling you may be used to.

Do to my job I need to wash my hair everyday sometimes twice a day. I'm a guy and have short hair so I don't really care if my hair it's "shiny" or "healthy looking," I just want to make sure this mixture won't completely destroy my hair and if there is something else that would be better to use.
