So true. I think it's because,

1. It's generally not publicly acceptable to just talk to strangers (sad)

2. It's hard to muster that much courage (weaaak)

I think you would like the buses where I live (not quite busy London) I talk to the lovely old ladies there. You'd be amazed how many are reminded of their grandchildren by me :3

Oh and on trains in the late evenings I talk to people to stay awake to my station :P You must understand that by this time of day I'm not talking much sense but after a gig in the city or a day there I have alot to say and hearing about who people are going home to is wonderful.
