The Fountains of Bellagio are about 8' deep at the edges, to maybe 10 near the fountains. There's a sloped well wherever the fountain mechanics are. The fountains all submerge, nothing to 'trip' over. There are motion sensors, quite visible, around the perimeter, and security will come fish you out if you dally. And if you just sit on the fountains' superstructure and 'chill', they have a boat and divers who maintain the show. Jumping in is easy - getting across and out without security? Harder.
