As a response to Hoopsencyclopedia's video about the artistry of Michael Jordan I thought I'd show you the fade-away as it was originally invented and the finger roll.

  • Please learn your history, his vertical was over 50 inches, Wilt was a track star and high-jump champion.

  • @Lossforwords78 ,Wilt never jumped as high as he couldve because he had long arms. I'm talking the young Wilt. There isnt alot of footage of Wilt. Very little footage. Wilt was on another level. End of discussion. Wilt dunked from the line before Jordan was born

  • Wilt would be the greatest ever if he had a killer instinct in the playoffs. But he played 1 mode or gear the entire season. You gotta be able to kick it up a notch.

  • @BNS224 I also have in-game NCAA footage of a goal-tend call on one of his attempted blocks. What's shocking is that he catches the ball at the top of the backboard, and his elevation doesn't stop gaining until his shoulder is rim level. A very small select few athletes have a higher vertical none are 7'1". I've never seen a player reach that high before.

    This is just the jump

This is the full game highlights

  • @BNS224 I'm a paleontology illustrator and I study a lot of anatomy in motion in mammals. Every skeletal index I analyze in mammal species also directly applies to humans and sport science. Wilt's legs have an exceptional crural index, giving him a major leverage advantage over equal strength athletes for jumping. His waist midpoint is 3.975', his High-Jump PR is 6'6.75" - midpoint to midpoint his waist has to elevate to 7.34' to clear the bar. So his max-vert is likely between 39.6" and 40.4"

  • nice fadeaway but no free throw

  • Wilt is the most dominating individual player in NBA history. I don't know how high WIlt's vert was but the reason why there is no footage of him with his head hovering over the rim is b/c in order to slam he barely had to jump. The NBA did change the rule of having to stay behind the ft line while shooting ft due to Wilt. Wilt had a rare combination of strength and speed for a big guy with unmatched endurance (45.8 minutes per game).

  • @NBAGOATS I totally agree

  • GOOGLE JABBAR OPEN LETTER TO PIPPEN FROM EARLIER THIS WEEK....

KAREEM WHO HATED WILT CALLS CHAMBERLAIN THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!

Quote: "You obviously never saw Wilt Chamberlain play who undoubtedly was the greatest scorer this game has ever known. When did MJ ever average 50.4 points per game plus 25.7 rebounds? "

"...Simply put the number of players that could have stopped Wilt Chamberlain in his prime has not increased."

  • @Lossforwords78 you a real doubting Thomas ain't ya.

I bet you think the 100 point game never even happened, right? It ain't on TV, so it's a lie... lmao

  • @shaqpopcorn34 put him in his era, then.

The year Wilt threw down 50 ppg his closest opponent was Bells with 31.

The year MJ got 37 ppg his closest opponent was Dominique with 29.

When Wilt retired, he was 5000 points ahead of anybody else on the scoring list. When Jordan retired, his peer Karl Malone had outscored him by almost 5000 points.

Wilt led the NBA in ppg AND rpg... FOUR TIMES

Wilt is the only player EVER to lead the NBA in assists AND rebounding

How come nobody else did it... EVER?
