I know this tune iv'e heard it first in several tom and jerry cartoons namely that one which Tom had a book teaching him to catch mice.

とうございます！ ビバップ後期を代表するスティットの傑作ですが、 何かにとり憑かれたように弾きまくるパウエルが凄いですね。
「鬼気迫る」という言葉がピッタリと嵌る演奏です。

勿論､ﾊﾟｳｴﾙの参加で世紀の名盤になったが､すでに揺るがないサックスﾌﾟﾚｲをもった､ソニー･スティット!～しかしパウエルには敵わない! #jazzm

おっしゃる通り、これはスティットのバップエイジにおける最高傑作であると同時にパウエルの絶頂期を捉えた数少ないアルバムのひとつであると思います。
スティットがこのレコーディングに際し、終始パウエルの気分を高揚させるためにお為ごかしを言っていたというエピソードが面白いですね。
