  • I hope you don't remove this video because of this guy; I would block him for the incessant nagging, personally.

  • @Renulph Nah, I wasn't intending to even if the pestering continued.

  • I agree with Manatositesigure, you should probably take this down honestly.. It's kinda disrespectful to the charity. If people want this song, they should buy the extremely inexpensive album.

  • @Milkthief It's not like I'm giving the song away here, it's here for people to view. It's entirely up to them whether or not they want to purchase the song or not. It's not like this video is giving it away.

  • @Milkthief With all due respect, anyone that wants to support Japan through purchasing this track will do it regardless of whether or not it's hosted on YouTube. Not to mention the description says to download it, like Chaibiss said, it's up to the user and this video in no way affects someone's decision to do so... quite the opposite, as it's alerting people to the cause. I'm a Coaltar of the Deepers fan and I had no idea this song existed until now, so don't undermine its effectiveness.

  • @theREALhaiaix3 And I did buy this song because I heard it on Youtube by one of the most under-appreciated bands in history and for a great cause. Thank you uploader, you are a part of a solution that can also be a problem. Luckily, your actions do not sway the pendulum in either direction for that is the job of your listeners.

  • @pce81z So in other words you admit to being part of the problem. Thanks, that was easy.

  • @lolsillymadchristian what i mean is that an mp3 or any other file of which a million copies can freely be made is not a real or proper product. downloading them by any means is not owning a product nor is it stealing a product, nor is it stealing anything at all.

  • @pce81z People were pirating long before anyone offered official digital downloads because they felt entitled to anything that could possibly be sent over the internet for free.

I don't see how a digital download could undermine the concept of a recording as a product anyway when the thing being offered for download is the product. The problem is inbreds saying "I aint payin 4 no FILES" and then stealing them. Or listening to them on Youtube.

  • @lolsillymadchristian if someone wants to donate to charity, this isn't going to stop them. i think it's pathetic that people have now come to equate browsing youtube (or even downloading from itunes) and owning a collection of music. what undermines the concept of recordings as products is "digital downloads."

  • I'm not going to buy this song because I can listen to it here on youtube.

  • "It's not like I'm giving the song away here"

That's exactly what you're doing. The only thing you buy when you buy an album, especially these days with official digital downloads, is the ability to listen to the music on demand. If someone wants to listen to the music without paying for it, they can use your video. It undermines the entire concept of a recording as a product.

That being said, I'd never heard of this charity or band before ten minutes ago.
