Weak argument. Ask the rebels and terrorist from Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria how well they do against super powers' military. Because last time I checked rebels in those countries are piss poor and don't have tanks, and an airforce.

Gun registration helps police return stolen guns to their rightful owners but it doesn't stop the use of guns in crime or to investigate the criminals because most guns used in crimes are stolen anyway.

People say background checks are necessary to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous ex-cons. Aside from the fact that not all felonies involve violence let alone guns, what are dangerous ex-cons doing out of prison in the first place?
