I apologize for the terrible recording and lack of video content. I did this as a high school project some years ago, yet still fully believe in the power of the Buddhist Monks stories. As you may notice, youtube has removed my original video twice due to some peoples complaints about the grotesque nature of it. It's a shame that we censor reality. Please continue to educate yourselves about the world around you, and I will join you in that. Blessings.

Fire
Someone yells fire
They scream of a fire

Closed Eyes
Calm mind
The peaceful resistance
We know
Brings more than just burned flesh
And smoke
Fire

Fire
You turn heads without screaming
Hurt
You won't be forgotten
Today
Not tomorrow

Tomorrow the papers will
Note of a tragedy
But who will honor
That sacrafice

Fire
Someone yells fire
They scream of a fire

How we
Got here
Is less of a
Mystery
More a mirror
The pages and headlines
Reflect
Our fire

Fire
Destruction of future
Deception of smoke clouds
And ash
Blind tomorrow

Whether or not the images of innocent humans lighting themselves on fire was impacting to the U.S. in 1966, it had a direct impact on me. Throughout history and religion self-sacrifice is a powerful gift or form of resistance. I think that the Buddhists gave a gift in showing their resistance. Due to these images I was inspired to write a song surrounding the idea of self-immolation, and its connection to the Vietnam War. Whether or not you agree with their actions, it is undeniable that they have caused a vital ripple affect in the world of peace talks, and violence. It makes you ask, what type of human action or event would cause someone to make such a massive sacrifice?

  • They don't feel it because they have cosmic minds. in the materialistic reality, we can see it as suicide...for their enlightened minds, they have been in nirvana, a culminated consciousness, and the sacrifice of their 'body' is not as important as the message they send when their being exists eternally (...not in hell as someone wrote). this is the greatest form of protest against materialism that has corrupted virtuous indigenous cultures around the world.

  • @mmallari44 I agree, recently I became very spiritual. I am experiencing new things, amazing things. I have also always been a critical thinker, radical thinker, "good" person, I have always observed things and analyzed. I am finding so many truths now, I am living so well now. I have been enlightened.

  • Fuck islam

  • This was a peaceful protest for the monks, but can you see how spirituality and religion can be used as a weapon? The opposite of burning yourself alive in peaceful demonstration is burning others alive in violent demonstration. The monks had enough discipline in their minds to do this to themselves, we're already experiencing what happens when renegades prioritize faith and their willingness to die changed our country.

Death to all religion, the Earth is my Heaven

  • A LO BONZO...

  • @vemvillhaenpinne the body remains a vessel no matter what beliefs you may have. However if your mind is fully awakened shouldn't the mind be aware and understanding of an unawakened mind. to me this was not only an act of extremity, but also an insult to the unawakened, in a sense that we will only be able to comprehend through these extremes.

  • @NaustroortsuaN I thought about this now, I agree. I have really changed though and I feel really good, no stress and all good vibes :)

  • @MrLivePositive8 true enlightenment is when you'r physical body diminishes and you's spiritual soul is ascended into paradise and everlasting peace it is known as fullfillment when you experience "enlightenment" on the physical plane

  • @tomazzify that has nothing to do with logic, you're argument is based entirely on moral beliefs. when you're mind is fully awakened your body is merely a vessel.

  • @ImSoKimm do not loose faith in your lord, just because of mans sin to obey it.

people have warped Christianity. to what extent is unknown

  • I only clicked on this video because I thought it was Rage against the machine.

  • I didn't know that somebody had already post that.
