Anna Chan:
Anti-Beijing Olympic protests have continued in Seoul since last Sunday, where student Beijing Olympic supporters were violent during the Olympic torch-relay there. Let's see what's going on.

South Korean civic group members and students have staged a series of anti-Chinese rallies since Sunday's Beijing Olympic torch relay in Seoul.

Chairman of Korea University's student body led about 20 students to the rally site on the May Day holiday.

[Jeong Soo-hwan, Protest Leader]:
"Some Chinese people used violence at the torch relay sites, right? The Chinese government has not officially apologized for this. So we are here to demand their apology."

After the peaceful rally, two student representatives placed a protest letter into the mailbox of the Chinese consulate.

In addition to the student protests, South Korea's foreign ministry voiced its concern to the Chinese ambassador in Seoul over violent incidents during the torch relay in the capital. And according to police, and investigation is underway.

Anti-Beijing Olympic protests have embarrassed China's Communist Party, prompting some Chinese abroad to rally behind Beijing during the relay's journey through Asia.

In Seoul, thousands of the Chinese students were bussed in from around the country for pro-Beijing rallies in the heart of the city.

Beijing Olympic supporters used violence during the torch relay, leaving at least one photojournalist and one policeman injured.

Many other civic group members insist they were also beaten by pro-Beijing Olympic supporters.

  • @RedHotGoku i can agree with you on one thing. but dont confuse socialism with communism. No one can fully share everything with others.. why ? human greed, and this is how communism is born. In essence it is ruled by an elite few, with no sense of democracy, thats why there are presidential elections, the Senate and the opposing House of representatives. Instead it is ruled by the Communist party and the end of the story....

  • @RedHotGoku so why arent you living in china ? if you like China that much? why dont you ask your parents why they dont live in China, if they like it that much... im pretty sure youll find the answer.

  • @RedHotGoku wait... so your telling me that when i went to China, and i could not videotape or walk around freely, thats their DEMOCRACY @ work ? no.. thats what you call communism at work. only the privliged communist party are allowed to do whatever they want.. the rest of the chinese are oppressed and stool fucked by their govt.

  • @RedHotGoku do you even know what PRC stands for ?

  • @HELOOKAT Wow right to the sex jokes, what a stunningly witty retort. You sir are truly a beacon which we should all prescribe to be like. I mean it only took you twelve ours.
