A response to the recent expenses debacle. I only wanted to use moving images so I have been restricted by the archive material I could acquire, therefore some of those dodgy individuals who have resigned or been sacked (such as: Nicholas and Ann Winterton; Anthony Steen; and the more recent James Purnell) have not been included into the rogues gallery.

The music and lyrics by Roy Harper are just sublime and oh so aptly applied to our modern day Judas Iscariots working in parliament today.

EnJoY.

  • i always thought the point of the song was that judas was asked by jesus to bring about his death, and that therefore he is a tragic figure, forever condemned to be remembered as a great betrayer, and condemned to an eternity in hell for hanging himself.

so i don't really see how the video works. voters never asked politicians to fiddle their expenses.

  • @autophobe2e "condemned to be remembered as a great betrayer, and condemned to an eternity in hell"

Hey there, you said it old bean!!!

The voters never asked politicians to fiddle their expenses, and they most certainly didn't expect to be betrayed and ripped off by them either.... I'm an atheist, (as is Roy I suspect..duh!) but that shouldn't restrict me from using this analogous to the Jeebus myth.

Methinks one is being slightly toooooo pedantic. But heyho, its all relative ain't it.

  • GREAT SONG BUT WORST VIDEO ON YOU TUBE

COME ON HOW FUCKING UGLY WAS THAT

  • @TheTrilnp ABSOLUTELY DIABOLICAL and probably the worst bar one or two others But at least I ain't profiting from it. I would understand your comment if I were attempting to profit from someone else's creativity, but I ain't. I think Roy Harper is grossly overlooked as one of Britain's greatest (political) folk heroes and I felt this song is as apt now as when he wrote it Even though he weren't commenting specifically about politicians. Think substance, NOT style. This isn't a personal ego trip

  • How does it feel to be a voter. How does it feel to have two faces. How does it feel to be out on your own.

  • Excellent "Harperesque" quote there sir. Thank you for your input. More please!

  • My understanding since i had a bible rammed down my neck every day was that Judas was Jebus's most trusted apostle and confidant thus being the only one he know would betray him...the rest would have faltered and the Four horsemen of the apocalypse, well i'm still waiting on them pricks to get the drinks in :)

  • @obviouslyFAKE2 love roy harper .detest this and all other governments

    Expenses are abused yes.

If you get a poorly funded member of

Parliament, or a rich man who is also an

MP which one has more influence?
