  • This is not a final. Just to remind you.

  • @RebCha93 I know, but this match and a lot more drama and fun rallies than the final which was rather straightforward for JJ.

  • Lena didn't attack that useless forehand of JJ enough.

  • THAT'S how Dementieva was playing in early 2009 in the second set, just taking every ball on in a smart way, and drive vollies after big serves. The confidence dropped a little and then she started letting balls bounce and the rally starts over. She began losing againt counter-punchers more than big hitters then. I wish she was still here, I miss her nice smile and fighting spirit!

  • I wish JJ would come back to her past form :(

  • If Dementieva had kept her spirit up and waited for a bit longer before retiring, she could've won a major or two considering how weak the current field is. Former second fiddlers like Li Na, Sam Stosur, Kvitova and Francesca had surprised everyone by winning a major subsequently, Dementieva had better skills than any of those ladies, there's no reason why she couldn't win one if she were still in the tour. Too bad. I would be in deep regret if I were her now.

  • i like watching women's tennis where they have to actually work for their points instead of just hitting aces or unreturnable serves as many of the men do. I like men's tennis, but height is really the tipping point. If your tall, you have a huge advantage.

  • @CapnMichael Or one of the match where they both play:) Do you remember the match between them in Mocsow once?:) 0-6, 6-1, 6-0 for JJ:)

  • jelena lacks the power needed to make more winners and she lacks the variety needed to keep her opponents guessing. either one would take her game to a champion's level. i would go with variety myself, then shed be like martina hingis with power.

  • wow. how much luck can jelena get -.-'
