Learn how to create a HDR/XDR style photo in Photoshop™ and Lightroom™.

This is not a tutorial showing how Dave Hill gets his effect. This is showing a similar overprocessed effect in a few steps. Dave's actual technique requires compositing and retouching for countless hours.

  • Great info and good job with the photo, but you should edit your video so that you don't have any time wasted opening programs, or showing mistakes like when you clicked on Safari. You might also want to consider screen recording the whole tutorial, editing to show only what you want to show, then come back in with a voice over.

Just some helpful tips... other than that... GREAT JOB.

  • @FiSHGRAPHICS I completely agree man. I didn't do a great job at this tutorial. I'm learning some video editing and how to voice over also. The next tutorials will be far greater organized and more professional. These are my first time doing tutorials so it's a bit of a learning process for now. But anyways thanks man! I really appreciate it.

  • More lightroom3 tuts please.

  • You can do everything you did in Lightroom through the Photoshop camera RAW. The steps you showed will obviously work, but its the long, difficult way to go about it. You can even open JPEGs in the camera RAW through Adobe Bridge.

Photoshop would come in with editing beyond what you do with the RAW for retouching and other effects like you showed.

  • Thanks for sharing! Seen on POTN :)

  • your screen must be huge
