Good ole Charlie Monroe used that thumb pick rhytm before Lester and Carter.

How true! Too many guitar players today overlook the rhythm...the thumb-pick rhythm a/la Lester and Carter is a lost art. I don't see many pickers use it today. Great videw!

They appear to be having fun. Note that Mr. Peterson is pickin' guitar with a thumb & fingerpick, juslike was done back in '46, in the spirit of Lester, Carter and a lot of the pioneers of BG. Before it got so damn fancy!
