@EuroSon99 check again, wiki "Scottish independence referendum, 2014" they already set the date. Get your facts right. Hell the SNP already run the Scottish Parliament. Also when polled the English public support their independence. So the only people trying to persuade them to stay are the political classes in the United Kingdom. @EuroSon99 no the EU has democracy on the national level and not at the top, commanding level. We don't want our "representatives" choosing who will lead us WE want to choose who leads us. And what is wrong with Scots wanting independence? Last time I checked we were allowing them to choose unlike Europe who threatens anyone who wants to leave and stops countries having referendums because they know the results will be, countries leaving the EU. The EU has strong democracy on a National and European level. Does China? Does the US with it`s companies paying for presidential advertisements?

The previous Greek leader suddenly called for a vote on the Bailout when interest on Debt was exploding. It was a ridiculous call and Not only Europe but also the IMF and China, the US etc, were telling Greece to call it off.

So you say UK`s foundation is in the past and thus irrelevant. Yet there are many in Scotland who want a Vote to leave the UK.

The UK history and how the UK was formed was in war time in an age where we didn't even have democracy we had warring nations colonizing everything they got their hands on. There is a HUGE difference. Europe as a whole has come a long way since then thanks to democracy. The EU says it supports democracy and yet it even goes as far as to stop democracy in Greece. Creating a democratic system should be PRIORITY over everything else.

@MrTech012 Thanks, I don't know what makes this Verhofstadt think that having no open primaries, referendums, or any other democratic institutions in the EU makes them some how democratic, but its crap. These men know exactly what they are doing and what they want, and it isn't some "United States of Europe". They are wolves.and are ones that are not even in vary good "sheep's clothing" either.
