In the Delhi episode of "Bizarre Food with Andrew Zimmern," Mr. Zimmern described the langar so well. He basically said how amazing it was to see a granthi be the head of a kitchen that serves 9000 people a day, 100-percent staffed by volunteers.

Awesome, true charity. I am not a sikh, but I would like to visit the Golden Temple.

@123decentman They also got harbhajan singh and delhi and bombay, and now even in chennai more and more sikhs are comming every day..which is not a bad thing, but a lot of them enjoy south indian food a lot. I have personally seen a lot of sikhs enjoying masala dosa when i visited there.

Great video! thnx for posting! just wanted to mention that not only does Bangla sahib or harmandar sahib serve free food to anyone but every GD sahib in the world!, Its the basic Sikh tenet which believes in Love and Equality to entire human kind regardless of race, creed, or gender.

so nice!!
yeah, isn't it wonderful? i jumped right in when i was there again, just three weeks back and helped make chapattis in the kitchen. i'm not a sikh, but i love going to the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib and meditating inside while they sing the scriptures. it's a powerful experience.
