excellent version, definitely sounds more like the genuine article. most people play the D in the chorus but the walked-down A Minor plus bass (if you see what I mean) sounds much better. i'll always play it that way.

@privettricker I have been telling people for AGES to stay away from Ibenez products. Been telling people to stay away from stuff that is slathered with lacquer as well. However, when I overplayed my Tanglewood 12 at a gig during Memorial Day, I picked up an Ibenez 12 string slathered in lacquer at my local music store. I took it into a practice room and played it. 45 minutes later I emerged saying, "I'll take it!" I paid $169 for it. Believe it or not, it out sounds my Alvarez DY-55.
Loved hearing your take on this fantastic song from Arlo. You play it expertly. Could you be talked into doing it again on 12-String? ;)

@generaleclectic31415 I haven't owned a 12-string since they went out of style more than 25 years ago. Besides, it takes too long to restring them. :)

@privettricker Personally, I think that one of the things that makes a 12 kinda cool is that everyone seems to discount them anymore. I have a eight-year love affair with mine and learned on a 12 for a year til I picked up a 6. Go to your local music store, pick up a 12, take it into a practice room and just start playing. I promise you'll not only be enamored with the sound but with the absolute good feel under your fingers.

@generaleclectic31415 I do enjoy the sound of a 12. There are a lot of songs that really need that sound and it's just not the same with only 6 strings. But on the other hand, there are a lot of songs where playing a 12 just doesn't sound right at all. And they're notoriously difficult to keep in tune, with all that enormous tension on the neck. Still, I'll probably end up picking one up. A used Martin 12-35's is dirt cheap these days.
