The King's Speech, this year's movie blockbuster, sensitively showed how a monarch was seriously affected by a speech disorder. Many children and young people also suffer from disabling speech disorders which can blight their lives, sometimes all their lives. The UK charity, Afasic (The Association for All Speech Impaired Children), exists to help and support them.
Some years ago, I was asked to write, direct and shoot a film to explain and promote the work of Afasic. More details about the charity can be found at http://www.afasic.org.uk. Their helpline is 0845 3 55 55 77.

I attended Moor House School (left in 2006), this video was a great insight into how the methods in which we were taught topics, like social skills, were devised. Although this video was made a good 3 years before I was even born it can be clearly seen that the expert's ideas were clearly put into practice in my time in special education, and they worked :-) Thanks for posting this!
