http://wormbincomposting.blogspot.com Other critters in the worm bin might cause you concern if you don't know what they are. Many of the critters are just part of the natural environment of a healthy worm bin.

  • i just noticed thousands of the fuckers all over my soil - what do i do?

  • Well, they're not THAT bad. I use a trap like the watermelon, any food that has lots of moisture. You can also let the bin dry out a bit. They like it wet.

  • thank you 4 sharing i like this!

  • awesome video... using the process to work for itself...how brilliant!

  • I do also think they help speed composting. My bin seems to compost really fast with all those mites, but they are crawling out and getting into other things. I think i heard sliced cucumber or sliced potato can work to, but melon rinds look to be best.

  • Thank you soooo much! Although i don't think their "spider-mites" but rather "soil-mites", but either way, their mites and I have those exact same big red mites and their out of control. I am going to do that. I have heard of doing this before, but I forgot.

  • This has been the most helpful reference for how to deal with mites in my bin. Thanks!

  • thanks, i´ll give it a try
