@Beatlebug60 This is my favorite era from The Beatles too!!!

The Beach Boys were almost in legal dispute over their Surfing USA as it almost closely follow the tune of Sweet Little Sixteen. It was settled later when Chuck Berry was credited as the co writer.

This is so cool, hearing John Lennon singing "Sweet Little Sixteen" with The Beatles!!! THank you so much for posting this great rare song!!!

@setefu John Lennon would have agreed and did so in several interviews.

i love the loud drums, and the way they sound heavy in this album

one of the greatest guitar solos of all time is in this song. There's a really good recording of the lads rocking this one on their 'Live at the BBC' album

I love this - it has a raw, fun, and almost punk-like energy to it which sad to say is actually missing from any later recordings.
I met a guy from Liverpool who says he regularly saw The Beatles at The Cavern. He swore blind that all of their best performances were never captured after they were tidied up and made acceptableI didn:t really believe him as I thought he was jealous to lose hte Beatles to the rest of the world - but hearing this for the first time I wonder if he was actually right!

@marvy1118 I love the little laugh John does when he sings "tight dresses and lipstick." John is a balls to the wall rocker, no doubt.
Sound almost like Surfin U.S.A. By The Beach Boys.

I'd rather say that Surfin U.S.A. by The Beach Boys sounds almost like Sweet Little Sixteen. Chuck Berry released this song in 1958 while Surfin U.S.A. came out by 1963.
