Nickelodeon Logo Change Now Official

Variety has confirmed the Nickelodeon logo change, which has been circulating around the internet message boards for several weeks now. For those who don't speak Variety, the article confirms that all Nickelodeon channels will receive the new logo (including Nicktoons and Nick at Nite). The new logo will also be used on the rebranded Nick Jr. and TeenNick networks (formerly Noggin and The N, respectively).

This article contains the first public comments, from Nickelodeon president Cyma Zarghami:

"In asking ourselves if everything could live under the splat, we decided that the splat was dated... It just couldn't be done in a streamlined way."

You kow what sucks? in 10 years kids are gonna say the shows they watch today were the best. our shows aren't kool to the new generation. they don't appreciate the meaning our shows have to us. they can't. the didn't grow up with Rocko, arnold, the beavers, and the rugrats. the current generation are probably gonna be talking about johnny test the same way we talk about Rocko's modern life. That just really sucks to me.

@danieldoscher I know what you mean I grew up with Rocko's Modern Life. The 1990's had some of the best toons, Ren and Stimpy, The Angry Beavers, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Doug, Catdog, Cow and Chicken, Johnny Bravo, and Dexter's Laboratory. A lot of great adult animation too, Family Guy, King of the Hill, South Park, Spawn, Dilbert, and The Tick.
