The dun players are very nice. I didn't so much care the soloist. he plays to much for himself. Not a team player. typical guinea city boy. good technique though. He's going to be fantastic when he get older and calms down....thanks for the video

African drumming isn't taken seriously by most people who try to emulate it, such as the middle-aged white mothers who attend the drum classes. Most of those types of people don't really even see drumming in the same way as the people in this video do. African entrepreneurs know the game and come along with their exotic names and cute clothes and most of them can't even play djembes anywhere near this level yet claim to be masters and teach classes. It all adds up to get ugly results.

Today I had a djembe class at school from two guinean drummers and they called a similar rhythm Maroko, I don't know how it's spelled but that's how it sounded.
The hippies at Phish concerts should be SO embarrassed after seeing how it's really done!
