For our CAM project, we wanted to simulate a counseling session for a patient looking to use garlic along with their simvastatin based on our research. Research data is inconclusive, so we didn't make a formal recommendation/rejection, but we did mention which types of garlic we recommended if the patient so chooses. We emphasized the important of statins first, and included side effects/common drug interactions to look out for. Group members Matthew Khol, Sai Nimmagadda, and Neal Vasist.

  • watching for pointers! :D ... (i hope you don't mind me putting in points that i was taught to do)

well at the beginning you would make sure you have the correct patient, you would ask are you mr. smith? and your address is (still) so and so? (2 types of identification). nice openended questions! ask for allergies beforehand ... take note or add to an existing list. ... ask them to summarize what they learned, if a lot of information. but i guess it's very clear here. :D

    so nervous lol.
