  • Hello lovelylovableloved -

In response to your question, the easy knotter is perfect for pearl knotting. Instead of creating the spacing between the beads you would just bring the bead directly to the knot, create the knot on the other side of the bead and then bring down another bead to the previous knot and create the knot. You would continue this until you have finished your necklace.

    Thank you - Reenie

  • Hello schultzee4748 -

I am responding to your comment posted for the easy knotter. I have posted further instructions for the knot next to the bead. Please scroll down to see them. Just remember the most important step - pull the cord VERY TIGHT until the bead is right up against the post. Do not be afraid to pull it tight. Refer to the further instructions that I have posted and I know this will help. Please let me know how you make out. Thanks - Reenie

  • Hi Sonrisita - This is Reenie, the inventor of the Easy Knotter responding to your concern regarding the second knot. This is part 1 of 4 to your question.Only allowed 400 characters per comment.

Here is what you do. You need to pull the cord very tight, don't be afraid to pull the cord, so the bead is tight up against the post. Don't be tempted to bring the bead back to the measurements on the board. You need the bead straight out. (Please refer to the video)

  • Part 2 of 4 regarding the second knot.

While you are pulling VERY TIGHT ON THE CORD, WITH THE BEAD AGAINST THE POST grip the bead with your index finger on one side of the bead and middle finger on the other side of the bead and put your thumb on the knot as if you are pinching it together. DO NOT USE THE NAIL OF YOUR THUMB. (Again, please refer to the video)

Once you have a good grip on the bead and knot, you can let go of the cord.

  • Part 3 of 4 regarding the second knot.

This next step is very important. Lift the knot straight off the post while holding the bead and knot. Take a hold of the cord and give a good tug while holding the bead and knot tight. MOST IMPORTANT, DO NOT MOVE YOUR FINGERS OR THUMB UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE TUGGED.

  • Part 4 of 4 regarding the second knot.

Don't be afraid to tug on the cord. You need the bead right up against the post facing away from you. Hope this helps and please me know how you make out.

You can e-mail me through my web-site - designsbyreenie.

    Thanks - Reenie

  • This is a handy little gadget. With practice, I've been able to get my knots right where I want them, much easier than with my awl. Don't think I'll ever reach your level of speed and dexterity though!

  • @EasyKnotter That is awesome! :-D

  • what if you don't want to space the beads out and instead have them side by side like a traditional pearl knotted necklace is this a good tool to use for that?

  • That does make things easy.

  • my problem is creating a knot very close to the bead as I do with an awl. I can't seem to get that down.

  • It worked!! I'm so happy!! I made my first knotted necklace with the easy knotter and it's lovely. Can't wait to start knotting some more necklaces. Thank you so much for your tips and wonderful invention.
