This is on my short list of favorite movies. A harrowing trip, and every emotion in the movie is earned. All thumbs up. Good old Jim Quackenbush!

You should see Robert Taylor & Vivian Leigh in Waterloo Bridge, another fantastic classic. Will need tissues.

Taylor was a right winger and classic "rat" in the Elia Kazan mode. Pity.
A fine actor in a great film. It's as good as anything John Ford ever did.
