  • can i haz a job?

  • You study computer architecture to know about the "organization" of elements such as registers and ALUs. Then you make a HDL (hardware description language) file which you import to a layout software such as Encounter. This program interprets your HDL code to transistors and lays it out. You tweek it a bit then you send a special output file from the software mentioned to a cleanroom for fabrication. They fabricate it using very expensive technology and advanced chemical procedures.

  • Dang.

Well, You must be right, cause I don't see how 1 dude could lay out 2 Billion Transistors, lol!!!

  • MB @ 4:15 is red... Intel chips are supposed to be BLUE. Don't change now. Who makes red MBs? Oh wait, AMD.

Sweet video tho. Consolidating data is getting easier and easier. Someday we'll just rent our CPU time from a datacenter running through a thin client, like they're talking about in this video. There are already video games "boxes" that have no media and little hardware as the game is rendered offsite and you only see video and plug in the controller.

  • Computers design computer chips now. You are The Obsolete Man (Twilight Zone)

  • How do I get to Design a Chip?

    Very Nice.
