candyham, wtf do you mean by the asus rampage 3 extreme being dated? its still one of the top three mobos on the planet! and it has the best chipset, the x58 + a 990x . you cant top that, the only mobos that match this one is the evga 4 way sli classified and the g1 assassin. unless you're going for an sr-2 with dual xeons, this cant be beat. and even if you mean dated as in old, are you high? its a year, (almost 2) years old! have we gotten so delusional that consider a year old tech "old"?

Sure it's an amazing mobo, but since it seems liked Falcon Northwest went all out on everything else in that rig, I was wondering why the mobo was the weakest link (other than the absence of a sound card).

@sn1kzZe ok, 40" monitor? you still didn't answer the question. if you are referring to display size (what ever type of display it is), display size has nothing to do with performance. resolution does.

@CandyHam ok, so what would you consider a better mobo than the R3E. this is clearly the best mobo on the market, unless you a) are putting in individual card quad sli or b) want a workstation with xeons. unless you are one of those, this is the best mobo on the market, along with the g1 assassin. i have the R3E and evga classified 4 way sli and prefer R3E

@sn1kzZe what do you mean 40"? tvs? why the fuck would you need 4 gpus for 40"?!? it doesnt matter about the screen size, its about the resolution, and a 40" tv has the same res as a lcd monitor. you only need 4gpus if youre running 3 monitors at 2560 x 1440 each, and even then....

Decent enough rig, I wonder what the brand/timings/voltage are on those ram modules lacking heatsinks. On my overclocks I turned up some shit on my mem and them bastards get pretty hot, even with heatsinks on em. I wonder what fps those cards would get me at 1600 res on my 32inch in 3D. hmmmm............
