I love all of your videos thank you very much, ive been playing one pocket a lot lately and i usually just keep the cue on the outside but now i see it can stay inside safely, thanks.
And why would you would play it this way instead of a normal bank with cue ball staying above? This is a classic one-pocket move used when there is another ball right on the rail about 1-1/4 diamonds from the left pocket. The cue ball ends up nestled right behind the other ball and you don't even care too much if you make the bank. You're favored to come out ahead either way. Unbelievable!!
Right, makes one wonder if there's space enough on any table, but it looks like there must be. Need to go to the pool room and find out how much (or little) farther the object ball must be from the bottom rail than one ball's width (that is, how close can one get until the shot becomes impossible). Such a fascinating game, such a wealth of details to learn and store in one's memory bank.
he is putting right hand english on the cueball, which transfers to left english on the object ball. so when the object ball hits the rail, it will have some left spin on it, and it sinks into the cushion with the left spin, throwing it back toward the pocket. same concept if a 2 ball combo is ligned up to the pocket, but to the right a little, and will miss= cueball right hand english= 1st object ball then will have left rotation= 2nd object ball will have right rotation= making shot go right.
All you people saying he's making this shot, due to large pockets are full of shit. This is a difficult bank period. Unnatural!! Good shot!

lol agreed. Those pockets are bar-table quality.

It helps that the pocket that he's banking the ball towards is HUGE.
Good shot to know nonetheless.
