Here is the second clip of CITV on 12.11.90.

It starts with the end of the Road Runner cartoon, then back to Scully, who trails the Dreamstone (to be seen the next day).

And then the ads, which are for Sylvanian Families from Tomy, Fairy Ultra washing powder voiced by Joanna Lumley, HeroQuest board game from MB, McDonald's Happy Meal with My Little Mermaid figurines, the Amstrad GX4000 games console, Manta Force from Bluebird, Kellogg's Honey Nut Loops, Morotcity sets from Matchbox, the Moulinex microwave oven, and the Rock 'n' Roll Maze game from Tomy.

Then, back to Scully, who trails Count Duckula, and introduces The Sooty Show. And we see the beginning of it. This episode was entitled "Collecting", and it was the antepenultimate episode of the 1990 series. It was about Sooty, Matthew, et al starting their collections - but Sweep would collect some really pointless objects...

This was recorded in the Thames TV region, hence we see the Thames breakbumper at the beginning of the ad break.

  • It cuts out before Matthew tells us what is in the letter? What is it? Is it his test results, the pools results or is it his housing relocation letter?

    We will never know.....

  • He sent a letter to his brother, who was living in France, so as his brother could send it back to him with a French stamp - for his stamp collection.

  • Blimey...I think I probably watched this exact line up in the november on 1990...I forgot all about that dog though. It actually makes me appreciate the money my parents shelled out because I had the whole set of manta force and by the looks of things they weren't cheap...even by todays standards! Heroquest also seems a bit dear and the screaming Goblin at the end made we want to hide behind the settee! You get all these nineties ads and then Sooty seems to come on straight from the seventies!

  • Thanks for the memories. :)

  • "Is it a Gas Bill?"

  • Oh, wow. Major, major nostalgia. That Prince Eric with Sebastian in a yellow boat... I had that! I remember it now! And I was three when it came out. Oh, where is it now? It's probably been long thrown away... Oh, wow... I want to find it again...

  • ignore last comment of mine. EVERYTHING IN THIS VIDEO IS LEGEND. its like a suprise present in one. games, awesome cartoons, that dog puppet when puppets were everywhere until Otis the ardvark was the last (RIP puppets) oh and sooty obv! Tell me you didnt just click on this for a laugh then your mouth dropped the more that was shown

  • I would have been 4 when this was on tv but i remember it

  • Oh, the Amstrad GX4000. If the non-release of the exciting Konix Multisystem damaged the dream of a successful British console, it died outright with the flop of Amstrad's well-meaning but doomed system.

  • Brooooooaaadswwoooorrdddd!

  • ah the good old days lol
