Villiers WX11 year 1927 Number AW10162

I bought this from a chap called Ray in Bristol a month ago today. he had looked after it very well & it looked lovely when I picked it up, but it had been painted almost all over in the mid brunswick green. So I decided to strip the engine down totally, I then stripped every bit of paint off of it, polished the carb, cylinder head & crank case. repainted the rest. I then made a new exhaust & brass tank strap. Bought a new badge for the flywheel cover, then fitted cast iron wheels & made a little brass discription plate. The rest is history.

  • Did the Manual come through? of did it get caught as junk?

  • @skankingiant

    Yes thank you.

  • Hello, I have a manual and a few other bits if you would like a copy, It also mentions that they should be run with a up right exhaust pipe as this restricts the power.

    Cheers Steve

  • She runs very nice, I have a Hopper cooled and a Tank cooled, I havnt seen to many with that style flywheel, My hopper cooled has a Aerograph compressor set flywheel, but my tank cooled is fitted with the bigger dish flywheel, with a nice Brass double V grove pulley.

Thanks for sharing the video, you done a great job

    Cheers Steve

    Hi Mate

Thanks for the comments & your video. First I would like to say is that it was when I first saw your videos that is what made me strip this one back to bare metal as I never realized what was underneath till I saw yours. Secondly I too will be running a lister domestic pump with mine.

So thanks again as if I had'nt seen yours mine would not be like it is today.

    Cheers

    Simon

Thanks for that they shine up quite nicely, I do quite fancy the earlier headless version, I got to look over the Hopper cooled at the big end has gone, been sat for the last few years, I think Im going to end up selling my Tank Cooled Think there is something else on the horizon see how it goes, will be keeping the hopper cooled, was my late Grandads so cant sell that!

    Thanks again for the video,

    Cheers, Steve
